A relaxing 45-minute trip in one of the typical boats ("Moliceiros") though the city's main waterways, while tasting the famous local egg pastries ("ovos moles") will end your tour.  You will have than some free time to explore the city's iconic shopping center, the Forum, and stroll around on your own, before returning to the meeting place.

Aveiro is a city in the center of Portugal, it has developed in the center of the natural lagoon locally known as Ria de Aveiro.
The natural lagoon appeared around the XVI century and is the result of several nature accidents, the first beeing the sea indentation. It's also the estuary of the river Vouga. The lagoon is separated by the sea by a thin dune sand. It is 28 miles long and 7 miles wide. It has many canals, legs, and islands. During centuries the man tried to create the right conditions so the water could flow easilly form the river to the sea and vice-versa. With that porpuse canal da Barra and it's lighthouse were constructed. Local people has been explorating natural resources for centuries, and the main activities are fishing, salt production, and agriculture. Today the lagoon is also stage for bird wathcing, walkings, boat trips, water sports and many other nature related activities.

We start our tour with a Moliceiro boat trip through the city canals. It's a 45 minutes guided boat trip that shows you the main city canals and the most important parts of Aveiro city.
We'll then leave Aveiro by mini-van and go see the Barra lighthouse, the major in Portugal and the 26th of the world. It's 62 meters high!
From there we'll visit Costa Nova and their colorful houses along side the lagoon. We then ride alongside the Aveiro lagoon to visit the Vista Alegre museum in Ilhavo and it's wonderfull porcelain artistic masterpieces, some are hand painted! You can make some shopping here!
Finally we will return to Aveiro, where the tour ends.

In Ovar, by the end of the 19th century semi-industrial pattern tiles were applied in the façades of most of public buildings, ornamented with balusters, pine cones and small ceramics statues. 
Tiles became increasingly more democratic and could be seen now on private-owned houses.

In Ovar we will make a guided walking tour and will visit 19 public tile facades.
An explanation about each facade and the technics used to produce and apaint the tiles will be provided by a tiles expert.
After that, we will have an amazing guided tile painting experience, where you can learn and test by yourself how to paint a tile. At the en and you can take your own painted tile as a souvenir.
